Experience
Through completing my Masters degree in Educational Psychology I have learned how to teach a wide array of learning styles, obtain a deep understanding of childhood teaching pedagogies, and experience how to use instructional technologies. I have studied how children and adults actively learn in meaningful differentiated ways. I am a Montessori certified early childhood educator. My interest in tutoring is derived from wanting to be a part of making a difference in the education system for children. I have been tutoring for elementary aged students for 15 years now. Parents have seen real academic gains through the tutoring approach I take. To overcome areas of difficulty I follow children's interests and talents. For some children I use Montessori didactic teaching materials to extend students learning. I maintain ongoing records of assessment and observation's for each child that I tutor for. I have tutored for children in grades preschool through six grade. I have tutored for students that have struggled with illness and unable to attend school. I meet with parents after each tutoring session to share about the sessionI. I can establish a liaison with each student's classroom teacher if requested.
